The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wiz SP's Giannis Charalambakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stathis Markonis in the 4th minute of play. Stathis Markonis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Charalambakis having to interfere. Giannis Charalambakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stathis Markonis in the 8th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Emmanouil Kontodimos rounded Apollon Apollonias's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Apollon Apollonias's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Emmanouil Kontodimos scored to the left of an out of position Eleftherios Karakostas, making the score, 2-0. 19 minutes into the match, Wiz SP's goal looked a bit too open when Stathis Markonis came free, but Giannis Charalambakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Apollon Apollonias's Eleftherios Karakostas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emmanouil Kontodimos in the 23rd minute of play. When Anastasios Papachronopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Apollon Apollonias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anastasios Papachronopoulos couldn't finish the play. Emmanouil Kontodimos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Babbis Tragos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giannis Charalambakis was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Emmanouil Kontodimos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleftherios Karakostas having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emmanouil Kontodimos was the one to do the kick off. Giannis Charalambakis was a little too slow when Stathis Markonis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 2-1.
