Fondas Platakidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Alkinoos Fanaras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sotos Katevatis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitris Karkabasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Panagiotis Stravocheris managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santorini's supporters rose to their feet, but Panagiotis Stravocheris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alkinoos Fanaras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chelsea's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Fondas Platakidis scored to the left of an out of position Alkinoos Fanaras, making the score, 2-1. The Chelsea fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Chelsea's Panos Karypidis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marios Moscholidis's late challenge caught a Chelsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santorini's Sotos Katevatis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Karypidis in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Santorini's zone, Dimitris Karkabasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sotos Katevatis came out of the goal and Dimitris Karkabasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sotos Katevatis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Karypidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Alkinoos Fanaras came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Santorini's Fondas Platakidis. But to his dismay, Fondas Platakidis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Minas Lazaridis was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, the referee gave Chelsea a penalty. Koulis Prichtis looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Sotos Katevatis.
