The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Theodosis Iakovakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ROMANOS's supporters rose to their feet, but Theodosis Iakovakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kostas Ioannidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th minute Fanis Stamatakopoulou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Ioannidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Fc LEYKIMMIS defense, Fanis Stamatakopoulou kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kostas Ioannidis. The Fc LEYKIMMIS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kostas Ioannidis should have stopped the shot. A collision led to ROMANOS getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Menios Vlastos hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Simos Bakouris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miltos Stroggilos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Fanis Stamatakopoulou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Fc LEYKIMMIS's goal looked a bit too open when Sakis Karageorgiou came free, but Kostas Ioannidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kyriakos Tsalavoutas kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Fc LEYKIMMIS getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nikiforos Raptis hit a great ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fanis Stamatakopoulou was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Paris Mitras cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Kostas Ioannidis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Fc LEYKIMMIS's zone, Paris Mitras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostas Ioannidis came out of the goal and Paris Mitras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kostas Ioannidis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fanis Stamatakopoulou in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Fc LEYKIMMIS's Thymios Charakoglou got a free kick in the 59th minute. Thanos Bousoulas hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, one of Fc LEYKIMMIS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fc LEYKIMMIS. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for ROMANOS. Theodosis Iakovakis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kostas Ioannidis. 0-4. Kostas Ioannidis came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by ROMANOS's Fanis Stamatakopoulou. But to his dismay, Fanis Stamatakopoulou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Fc LEYKIMMIS's Kostas Ioannidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sakis Karageorgiou in the 77th minute of play. Kostas Ioannidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theodosis Iakovakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 87th minute Sakis Karageorgiou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Ioannidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simos Bakouris took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miltos Stroggilos. Miltos Stroggilos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. ROMANOS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
