Charalambos Giannakoulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vassilis Mantzouranas in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, KazaklarFC's Thalis Mavridis got a free kick in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thalis Mavridis in the 15th minute of play forced AKONTION's goalkeeper Charalambos Giannakoulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charalambos Giannakoulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Mantzouranas, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Apostolis Pagonis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AKONTION fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, KazaklarFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dionysis Alexandris came free, but Manolis Chatziioannou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led AKONTION's Miltos Papakostopoulos to fire away a dangerous shot which Manolis Chatziioannou despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 35th minute Dionysis Alexandris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manolis Chatziioannou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anastasios Zimaras scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manolis Chatziioannou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AKONTION's Charalambos Giannakoulis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save AKONTION from getting a goal against them. Charalambos Giannakoulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thalis Mavridis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stratos Georgiadis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Charalambos Giannakoulis. AKONTION's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The KazaklarFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AKONTION were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thalis Mavridis to make the kick off. Nikos Vrakozonis charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nikos Vrakozonis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KazaklarFC's Nikos Vrakozonis got a free kick in the 53rd minute. AKONTION's Anastasios Zimaras got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nikos Vrakozonis was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The KazaklarFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manolis Chatziioannou should have stopped the shot. After having played for 72 minutes, Vaggelis Maladenis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KazaklarFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vaggelis Maladenis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Timos Liakopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the game, Vaggelis Maladenis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Charalambos Giannakoulis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 84 played minutes KazaklarFC got a freekick which was hit by Thalis Mavridis. After having played for 89 minutes, Vaggelis Maladenis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KazaklarFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vaggelis Maladenis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th match minute, KazaklarFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonis Nomikos to maneuver through the defense. Anastasios Zimaras who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Manolis Chatziioannou when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The AKONTION supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AKONTION would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
