Kavalas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthimos Charalambidis couldn't finish the play. Anthimos Charalambidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charalambos Giannakoulis having to interfere. Apostolis Pagonis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaios Trigonakis having to interfere. Anthimos Charalambidis hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Orestis Eleftheratos charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orestis Eleftheratos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AKONTION booed when A.O. Kavalas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orestis Eleftheratos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Babbis Giannoglou could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Charalambos Giannakoulis however easily saved by the left post. AKONTION's Charalambos Giannakoulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaios Kostenoglou in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th match minute, A.O. Kavalas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orestis Eleftheratos to maneuver through the defense. If Anastasios Zimaras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, A.O. Kavalas's Orestis Eleftheratos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. A.O. Kavalas's Vaios Trigonakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apostolis Pagonis in the 40th minute of play. Babbis Giannoglou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Charalambos Giannakoulis made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 56th minute, Babbis Fragakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, A.O. Kavalas's Argyris Kanellidis tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, AKONTION's goal looked a bit too open when Babbis Giannoglou came free, but Charalambos Giannakoulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 minutes of play A.O. Kavalas's Orestis Eleftheratos was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Orestis Eleftheratos kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Dionysis Alexandris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Apostolis Pagonis took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Vaios Trigonakis to make any attempt to save it. 82 minutes into the match, Anastasios Zimaras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vaios Trigonakis. A.O. Kavalas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anastasios Zimaras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Apostolis Pagonis struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Vaios Trigonakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AKONTION. With a little luck, A.O. Kavalas's Vaios Trigonakis got control of the ball when Dionysis Alexandris tried to sneak it across the goal line. AKONTION played a much better game than A.O. Kavalas and deserved their victory. The A.O. Kavalas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
