Panos Spathas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Aggelos Fanakoglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Themos Sferas during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argyris Koulakidis in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giorgos Kastanakos saved Anagennisi Karditsas from getting behind. Giorgos Kastanakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Argyris Koulakidis in the 76th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Aggelos Tsibos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Argyris Koulakidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aggelos Fanakoglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Spathas, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Aston Villa's zone, Panos Spathas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aggelos Fanakoglou came out of the goal and Panos Spathas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aston Villa's Argyris Koulakidis got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 minutes, Nikos Michail mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anagennisi Karditsas and the Aston Villa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Aston Villa booed when Anagennisi Karditsas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Michail didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Anagennisi Karditsas's Giorgos Kastanakos got control of the ball when Aggelos Tsibos tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nikos Michail had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
