The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Simos Kakoudakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Kostantelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After having played for 4 minutes, Savas Karagiannakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patrikαta BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Savas Karagiannakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andreas Trabakoulos during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Patrikαta BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Trabakoulos to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Alekos Tomaras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dimitris Kountouroudas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Nikos Kostantelos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas's Simos Kakoudakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nikos Kostantelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patrikαta BC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikos Kostantelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simos Kakoudakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kleanthis Perivolakiss short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Simos Kakoudakis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Andreas Trabakoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When Babbis Kanellakis came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Babbis Kanellakis couldn't finish the play. Grigoris Kafropoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simos Kakoudakis having to interfere. Simos Kakoudakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kleanthis Perivolakis in the 41st minute of play. When Dimitris Kokkinias fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas's protests and gave Dimitris Kokkinias a yellow card for diving instead. Simos Kakoudakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kleanthis Perivolakis in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Patrikαta BC's Nikos Kostantelos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simos Kakoudakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kleanthis Perivolakis made a kick off. Dimitris Kountouroudas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christos Tigris in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Christos Tigris could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Dimitris Kountouroudas however easily saved by the left post. Grigoris Kafropoulos struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Simos Kakoudakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patrikαta BC. Giorgos Makrikostas struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Simos Kakoudakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patrikαta BC. After a rather tough play, Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas's Christos Tigris got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute Babbis Kanellakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitris Kountouroudas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kleanthis Perivolakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simos Kakoudakis having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenios Katsiaros in the 92nd minute of play forced Patrikαta BC's goalkeeper Dimitris Kountouroudas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dimitris Kountouroudas made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Christos Tigris sent off a good shot on target. Christos Tigris took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dimitris Kountouroudas. Dimitris Kountouroudas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The Patrikαta BC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas to win.
