The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonis Nestorakoglou got free with Nestoras Kolonelos in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nestoras Kolonelos made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Antonis Nestorakoglou sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to REDS FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Fokas Papatsakalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alekos Valassopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Fokas Papatsakalos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Kraidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christoforos Belos came free, but Fokas Papatsakalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Simos Chronoulis got a free kick in the 25th minute. Alekos Valassopoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fokas Papatsakalos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giorgos Kostetsos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of PAOK FC booed when REDS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostas Vallas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Alekos Valassopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. REDS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alekos Valassopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fokas Papatsakalos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th match minute, REDS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoforos Belos to maneuver through the defense. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giorgos Kostetsos made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Kostas Soukis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PAOK FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave REDS FC the free kick. In the 52nd minute, one of PAOK FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for PAOK FC. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for REDS FC. Theodosis Liolidis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fokas Papatsakalos. 0-1. After a rather tough play, REDS FC's Thanasis Fragoulakis got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 72nd minute Nikos Kraidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fokas Papatsakalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alekos Valassopoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fokas Papatsakalos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
