If Kostas Loubakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Louis Kidonas hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. AEK SFC's Iordanis Prinianakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kleon Semeloglou in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fotis Anastasakos in the 44th minute of play forced AEK SFC's goalkeeper Iordanis Prinianakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fanis Petriniotis made a kick off. Adamantios Kakouros kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Giannis Tatsos might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iordanis Prinianakis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giannis Tatsos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 58th minute, Giannis Tatsos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Iordanis Prinianakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Loubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, AEK SFC's goalkeeper Iordanis Prinianakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fotis Anastasakos. Fanis Petriniotis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanasis Boumis kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When Kostas Loubakis came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kostas Loubakis couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AEK SFC throughout the match.
