With an all-out effort, Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's Omiros Chatzinathanail threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kostas Loubakis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mégkla's goalkeeper Omiros Chatzinathanail, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th match minute, Mégkla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Kostis to maneuver through the defense. Kostas Loubakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Omiros Chatzinathanail tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 16 in the game by Kleon Semeloglou from a close distance when the talented Omiros Chatzinathanail managed to make a qualified save. Mégkla's players were relieved. If Fotis Anastasakos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omiros Chatzinathanail made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostas Loubakis in the 19th minute. The supporters of Mégkla booed when Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Themis Kalivatsis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Fotis Anastasakos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kostas Loubakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Thanasis Boumis hit a great ball. Vrasidas Leptokaridis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Kalpadakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Kostas Loubakis came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kostas Loubakis couldn't finish the play. Vrasidas Leptokaridis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kostas Kalpadakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vrasidas Leptokaridis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Kalpadakis in the 38th minute of play. Argyris Korelas took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vrasidas Leptokaridis. Vrasidas Leptokaridis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Kleon Semeloglou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omiros Chatzinathanail having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kostas Loubakis to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Kostas Loubakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Omiros Chatzinathanail took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kostas Loubakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Mégkla's goal looked a bit too open when Kostas Loubakis came free, but Omiros Chatzinathanail reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aimilios Kromlidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kleon Semeloglou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omiros Chatzinathanail having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Aimilios Kromlidis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vrasidas Leptokaridis. Aimilios Kromlidis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The supporters of Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς booed when Mégkla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giannis Pachopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omiros Chatzinathanail came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's Fotis Anastasakos. But to his dismay, Fotis Anastasakos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's Fotis Anastasakos got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanasis Boumis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kostas Loubakis struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Omiros Chatzinathanail didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς. After a defensive mix-up in Mégkla's zone, Kostas Loubakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Omiros Chatzinathanail came out of the goal and Kostas Loubakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kostas Loubakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mégkla were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's much stronger midfield.
