The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stathis Seremetidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kleon Semeloglou in the 6th minute of play. Skafνdhi FC's Stathis Seremetidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fotis Anastasakos in the 9th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Fotis Anastasakos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stathis Seremetidis was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Kleanthis Karabelopoulos's late challenge caught a Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kleanthis Karabelopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Skafνdhi FC got a freekick which was hit by Kleanthis Karabelopoulos. Stathis Seremetidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Loubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th match minute, Skafνdhi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Menios Leras to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute of the match Kleon Skoufas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stathis Seremetidis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 19th minute, Fotis Anastasakos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Skafνdhi FC's Stathis Seremetidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Loubakis in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stathis Pagonakis in the 23rd minute of play forced Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's goalkeeper Vrasidas Leptokaridis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kleanthis Karabelopoulos hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Stathis Seremetidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Loubakis in the 33rd minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Skafνdhi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fotis Anastasakos came free, but Stathis Seremetidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stathis Seremetidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fotis Anastasakos went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After the first half Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kleanthis Karabelopoulos was the one to do the kick off. Stathis Seremetidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Loubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 55 minutes, Anastasios Marinos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skafνdhi FC and the Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Skafνdhi FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Anastasios Marinos hit a great ball. Menios Leras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vrasidas Leptokaridis having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's goal looked a bit too open when Kleanthis Karabelopoulos came free, but Vrasidas Leptokaridis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kleanthis Karabelopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Stathis Seremetidis made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Fotis Anastasakos sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute, Ntinos Zouros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Louis Kidonas came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Kidonas couldn't finish the play. Fotis Anastasakos in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stathis Seremetidis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Skafνdhi FC's Stathis Seremetidis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Skafνdhi FC from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the game, Fotis Anastasakos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Stathis Seremetidis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vrasidas Leptokaridis came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Skafνdhi FC's Stathis Pagonakis. But to his dismay, Stathis Pagonakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Skafνdhi FC's Anastasios Marinos got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Anastasios Marinos off the ground. Anastasios Marinos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 89 played minutes, Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς's Louis Kidonas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stathis Seremetidis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς reached it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Ntinos Zouros put in a rough tackle. After 92 played minutes Skafνdhi FC got a freekick which was hit by Ntinos Zouros. In the 93rd minute, Louis Kidonas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Skafνdhi FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ολυμπιακός Πειραιώς were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
