Spectators: 7702 (Terracing: 5819, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 100) panetolikos's Marinos Kolokotronis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Panagiotis Kastanoulis during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Iraklis's Prodromos Poulis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Iraklis from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Iraklis's Loukas Gogolos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Loukas Gogolos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Iraklis protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Loukas Gogolos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 12 minutes into the game, one of Iraklis:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Iraklis's Diogenis Tsebelis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kyriakos Saravakos in the 22 minute of the game. In the 28th minute Prodromos Kostikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pantelis Kissas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pantelis Kissas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miltiadis Kirmizas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute, Nikos Kazanas made a precise shot to the right of Pantelis Kissas. panetolikos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Minas Mallous took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pantelis Kissas. Pantelis Kissas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in panetolikos's zone, Minas Mallous stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pantelis Kissas came out of the goal and Minas Mallous tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Minas Mallous sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Iraklis defense, Sotiris Kopidakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Prodromos Poulis. The Iraklis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Prodromos Poulis should have stopped the shot. After the first half Iraklis were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Minas Mallous made a kick off. Pantelis Kissas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Minas Mallous in the 53rd minute. Kyriakos Saravakos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Prodromos Poulis. Iraklis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Minas Mallous struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Pantelis Kissas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iraklis. Miltiadis Kirmizas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pantelis Kissas having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Nikos Kazanas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iraklis's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikos Kazanas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pantelis Kissas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Minas Mallous sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Minas Mallous had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Minas Mallous in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pantelis Kissas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in panetolikos's zone, Diogenis Tsebelis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pantelis Kissas came out of the goal and Diogenis Tsebelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miltiadis Kirmizas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iraklis's Miltiadis Kirmizas got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd match minute, panetolikos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitris Strilakos to maneuver through the defense. Minas Mallous sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
