Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Iliσfoton:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deviliakos FC:s goal. The referee gave Deviliakos FC a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alexandros Zoubadellis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Iliσfoton's Konstantinos Trontzos. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikolas Gaitanidis in the 28th minute of play forced Iliσfoton's goalkeeper Konstantinos Trontzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christos Zervoudakis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikitas Zolotas's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Kostas Savvakos might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christos Zervoudakis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kostas Savvakos ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nikitas Zolotas to strike the kick off in the second half. Iliσfoton's Kostas Savvakos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Iliσfoton's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Sousanis came free, but Konstantinos Trontzos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Nikitas Zolotas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Alexandros Seretis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
