After having played for 16 minutes, Dimos Balafoutis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GALISSAS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimos Balafoutis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 minutes, Thymios Nikitopoulos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iliσfoton and the GALISSAS FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Iliσfoton getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Thymios Nikitopoulos hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandros Venoukas couldn't finish the play. Dimos Balafoutis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The GALISSAS FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Iliσfoton were winning 0-1.
