Grigoris Bekos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juhani Eskelinen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikiforos Papoutsakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Veloϊlion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyriakos Stefanopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juhani Eskelinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikiforos Papoutsakis in the 41st minute of the match. Stathis Karpenisis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Juhani Eskelinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 50 minutes of play AEK ένωση F.C.'s Christos Moukeas was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Veloϊlion booed when AEK ένωση F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christos Moukeas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stathis Karpenisis was the one to do the kick off. If Kyriakos Stefanopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Veloϊlion's goalkeeper Juhani Eskelinen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stathis Karpenisis. A collision led to Veloϊlion getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Veniamin Psarros hit a great ball. After 71 minutes, Dorotheos Tsorbas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AEK ένωση F.C. and the Veloϊlion players grew even worse after the yellow card. Periklis Varkaris succeeded in the game's 83rd minute to get real power on a long shot . AEK ένωση F.C.'s Grigoris Bekos hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-0! 87 minutes into the game, Thanos Velouchiotis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Grigoris Bekos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kyriakos Stefanopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
