After 65 minutes, Buba Diop mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Veloϊlion and the Iliσfoton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th match minute, Veloϊlion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buba Diop to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Kostas Savvakos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juhani Eskelinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Iliσfoton's zone, Kyriakos Stefanopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Konstantinos Trontzos came out of the goal and Kyriakos Stefanopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Kyriakos Stefanopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Veloϊlion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyriakos Stefanopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iliσfoton's Konstantinos Trontzos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Iliσfoton from getting a goal against them. Thymios Nikitopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Buba Diop kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Many of Veloϊlion's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Veloϊlion may have spent more time on the ball, but Iliσfoton were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
