The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nikos Stratzalis struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aggelos Tabakos in the 11th minute of play forced GALISSAS FC's goalkeeper Miltos Karanasios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind GALISSAS FC's goalkeeper Miltos Karanasios, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Themos Valassoulis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimiros Karaflidis hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. GALISSAS FC's Petros Likouriotis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SALAMINA. Soulis Trofantos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Stratzalis, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 21 minutes in the game, Nikos Stratzalis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Grigoris Panagopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Aggelos Tabakos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miltos Karanasios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Soulis Trofantos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Stratzalis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimos Balafoutis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Soulis Trofantos made a huge save. A collision led to GALISSAS FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Sakis Kousis hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Aggelos Tabakos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SALAMINA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aggelos Tabakos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes, Antonis Ignatiou mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GALISSAS FC and the SALAMINA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miltos Karanasios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aggelos Tabakos in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of GALISSAS FC booed when SALAMINA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigoris Panagopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miltos Karanasios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aggelos Tabakos in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grigoris Panagopoulos got free with Miltos Karanasios in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grigoris Panagopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dimos Balafoutis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soulis Trofantos having to interfere. Nikos Stratzalis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
