The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Chouliarades was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Makis Giatrakis to maneuver through the defense. Theocharis Zouvelekis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lazaros Dimitratos, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Theocharis Zouvelekis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lazaros Dimitratos in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Lazaros Dimitratos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Theocharis Zouvelekis. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazaros Dimitratos in the 19th minute of play forced Chouliarades's goalkeeper Theocharis Zouvelekis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chouliarades's Theocharis Zouvelekis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Chouliarades from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Chouliarades's goal looked a bit too open when Stratos Papadamakis came free, but Theocharis Zouvelekis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of DownTown Boys booed when Chouliarades was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Makis Giatrakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Makis Giatrakis kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Giannis Geronimidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Theocharis Zouvelekis made a huge save. Panagiotis Galanos hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes, DownTown Boys's Lakis Blatsios shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Theocharis Zouvelekis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in DownTown Boys reached it. After a rather tough play, DownTown Boys's Anastasios Kounenakis got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 42 played minutes, Chouliarades's Alkis Kaloxilos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Charalambos Passalis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chouliarades reached it. In the 47th minute Lazaros Dimitratos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theocharis Zouvelekis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lazaros Dimitratos made a kick off. Miltos Seletopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Charalambos Passalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, DownTown Boys's Charalambos Passalis got control of the ball when Miltos Seletopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Giannis Miliokas might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charalambos Passalis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giannis Miliokas ran back to his position shaking his head. Christos Kalaboukas kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Avraam Patemtzis during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to DownTown Boys getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Avraam Patemtzis hit a great ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Miltos Seletopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chouliarades's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miltos Seletopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Christos Kalaboukas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Theocharis Zouvelekis was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Theocharis Zouvelekis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Avraam Patemtzis in the 83rd minute of the match. Theocharis Zouvelekis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stratos Papadamakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When Giannis Miliokas came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Chouliarades fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giannis Miliokas couldn't finish the play.
