Themos Pavlakoglou started the match with the kick off. Periklis Tatsos charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Periklis Tatsos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of INTER FC booed when Poliani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Periklis Tatsos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zacharias Papaiakovou made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Anthimos Katsidimas sent off a good shot on target. Stamatis Tsirkos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Errikos Moustakidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Stamatis Tsirkos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. INTER FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poliani the free kick. Stamatis Tsirkos kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Michalis Kaliris managed to get in a good position for a shot. INTER FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Michalis Kaliris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Errikos Moustakidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Errikos Moustakidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stamatis Tsirkos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 24 minutes, Stamatis Tsirkos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTER FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stamatis Tsirkos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Periklis Tatsos got his second yellow card in the match during the 25th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After having played for 37 minutes, Michalis Kaliris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTER FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michalis Kaliris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michalis Kaliris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zinon Liadelis was the one to do the kick off. INTER FC's Gilbert Månsson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Panos Fanakoglou in the 52 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Poliani defense, Fanis Farmakidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Errikos Moustakidis. The Poliani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Errikos Moustakidis should have stopped the shot. In the 59th match minute, INTER FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Månsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fanis Farmakidis in the 61st minute of play forced Poliani's goalkeeper Errikos Moustakidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andreas Zigourakis fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poliani's protests and gave Andreas Zigourakis a yellow card for diving instead. Andreas Zigourakis hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Poliani's Errikos Moustakidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fanis Farmakidis in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Poliani's goal looked a bit too open when Fanis Farmakidis came free, but Errikos Moustakidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Stamatis Tsirkos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fanis Farmakidis in the 84th minute of play forced Poliani's goalkeeper Errikos Moustakidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stamatis Tsirkos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Errikos Moustakidis having to interfere. If Stamatis Tsirkos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Stamatis Tsirkos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTER FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stamatis Tsirkos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Poliani fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. INTER FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
