Fivos Androulakis hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Savas Ntountas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stratos Karakonstantinou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Thodoris Seichanidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Savas Ntountas got free with Stratos Karakonstantinou in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Savas Ntountas to strike the kick off in the second half. Stratos Karakonstantinou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Savas Ntountas in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Fotis Panagiotopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paparians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fotis Panagiotopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, galaxy's Panos Skouras nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paparians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave galaxy the free kick. In the 75th minute, Panos Skouras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The galaxy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Savas Ntountas in the 83rd minute of play forced Paparians's goalkeeper Stratos Karakonstantinou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Savas Ntountas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Stratos Karakonstantinou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stratos Karakonstantinou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panos Skouras in the 95th minute of the match. During the 97th minute of the match Konstantinos Gialesakis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Konstantinos Gialesakis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of galaxy booed when Paparians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantinos Gialesakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Panos Skouras came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the galaxy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panos Skouras couldn't finish the play. Paparians's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
