Orestis Vouzas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antonis Tsigos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paraskevas Kokkosalis having to interfere. After 42 minutes, Alexis Parmenidis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the galaxy and the Oxford University players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexis Parmenidis hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Savas Ntountas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Orestis Vouzas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Paraskevas Kokkosalis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nikos Liberiou kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Charalambos Bourousis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Valentinos Kyriakakoglou. Oxford University's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Savas Ntountas managed to get in a good position for a shot. galaxy's supporters rose to their feet, but Savas Ntountas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Panos Skouras struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for galaxy. An unexpectedly hard shot by Savas Ntountas in the 87th minute of play forced Oxford University's goalkeeper Valentinos Kyriakakoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Panos Skouras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Savas Ntountas came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the galaxy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Savas Ntountas couldn't finish the play. Oxford University's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
