The supporters of Final Fantasy FC booed when Ximpatzides FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stamatis Tsilikos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ximpatzides FC's Miltos Rigas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veniamin Diamantidis in the 41st minute of play. Miltos Rigas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorotheos Liaskovitis in the 43rd minute of the match. When Isidoros Soulidis fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ximpatzides FC's protests and gave Isidoros Soulidis a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Ximpatzides FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Final Fantasy FC:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Thodoris Moraitis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alketas Stefanopoulos having to interfere. Final Fantasy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renos Topouzoglou was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorotheos Liaskovitis came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miltos Rigas could save by the left post. Theofilos Vrakozonis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alketas Stefanopoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Final Fantasy FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
