After having played for 18 minutes, Omiros Kyriakidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agia Sofia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Omiros Kyriakidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Minas Matzios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Sakis Kalabalikis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Minas Matzios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Minas Matzios managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agia Sofia's supporters rose to their feet, but Minas Matzios was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sakis Kalabalikis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Omiros Kyriakidis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sakis Kalabalikis having to make a save. A collision led to Agia Sofia getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Charalambos Stenos hit a great ball. Sakis Tsigas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacharias Tsartas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Genésio BC's Sakis Kalabalikis got control of the ball when Minas Matzios tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Omiros Kyriakidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stathis Daras kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Omiros Kyriakidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Agia Sofia booed when Genésio BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniil Piomenos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Minas Matzios in the 57th minute of play forced Genésio BC's goalkeeper Sakis Kalabalikis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Genésio BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Nikolaidis to maneuver through the defense. After 60 minutes of play, Agia Sofia's Minas Matzios made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sakis Kalabalikis was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Genésio BC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Daniil Piomenos hit a great ball. Stathis Kechribaris took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sakis Kalabalikis. Genésio BC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Agia Sofia booed when Genésio BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giorgos Zamanopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Omiros Kyriakidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. If Minas Matzios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniil Piomenos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes Genésio BC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stathis Kechribaris who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Iakovos Chatzigiannis to score against Sakis Kalabalikis in Genésio BC's goal. 3-0 after 89 minutes. Genésio BC's Viktoras Thomakos got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Agia Sofia's zone, Giorgos Nikolaidis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sakis Tsigas came out of the goal and Giorgos Nikolaidis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Genésio BC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
