In the 8th minute, Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's Giorgos Papadamos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's Akakios Petroulis got a free kick in the 12th minute. Grigoris Kokakias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christos Karagiannopoulos's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Anastasios Diamantidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 18 minutes, Theagenis Paragas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panionios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theagenis Paragas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Dimitris Papapetrou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Panionios FC's Minas Kakavos got control of the ball when Giorgos Papadamos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Olympiakos S.F. Pagou booed when Panionios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Themis Aslanidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Christos Karagiannopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grigoris Kokakias. Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christos Karagiannopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Christos Karagiannopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigoris Kokakias having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's zone, Theagenis Paragas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grigoris Kokakias came out of the goal and Theagenis Paragas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Panionios FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christos Karagiannopoulos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olympiakos S.F. Pagou's Grigoris Kokakias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Olympiakos S.F. Pagou from getting a goal against them. Christos Karagiannopouloss short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Grigoris Kokakias to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Christos Karagiannopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Grigoris Kokakias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A well placed Christos Karagiannopoulos short distance shot in the 64th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panionios FC's goalkeeper Minas Kakavos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Christos Karagiannopoulos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Grigoris Kokakias skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Anastasios Diamantidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes Olympiakos S.F. Pagou got a freekick which was hit by Isidoros Liberis. Grigoris Kokakias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christos Karagiannopoulos's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match, Christos Karagiannopoulos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Grigoris Kokakias saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Olympiakos S.F. Pagou fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Panionios FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
