Vafiochorion FaC's Eugenios Blikas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Vafiochorion FaC from getting a goal against them. Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christos Chatzidakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With 11 minutes on the clock, Makis Martinakos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Christos Chatzidakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Savas Kaloukos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Eugenios Blikas made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Miltos Ziogas sent off a good shot on target. Nea Smirni's Christos Chatzidakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Nea Smirni getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Nontas Panagiotou hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, Vafiochorion FaC's Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christos Chatzidakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eugenios Blikas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Menelaos Siradakis in the 25th minute of the match. Nektarios Mantalakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Christos Chatzidakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Nea Smirni's goal looked a bit too open when Fotis Sapounas came free, but Christos Chatzidakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Savas Kaloukos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christos Chatzidakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charalambos Valakopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miltos Ziogas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Nektarios Mantalakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nea Smirni's Christos Chatzidakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Savas Kaloukos in the 54th minute of play. Menelaos Siradakis struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Eugenios Blikas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nea Smirni. Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Christos Chatzidakis came out and tried to block the shot, but Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 58th minute. Christos Chatzidakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Savas Kaloukos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos's late challenge caught a Nea Smirni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes Vafiochorion FaC got a freekick which was hit by Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos. In the 70th minute of the match, Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Christos Chatzidakis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Menelaos Siradakis kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 75 played minutes Nea Smirni got a freekick which was hit by Nikitas Papalexis. When Menelaos Siradakis came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Nea Smirni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Menelaos Siradakis couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Vafiochorion FaC's Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. If Fotis Sapounas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christos Chatzidakis was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lazaros Bakogiannopoulos really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. The Vafiochorion FaC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vafiochorion FaC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
