The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Apostolos Skopelitis made a precise shot to the right of Spyros Konstantakakis. Reds FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 17th minute, Babbis Kavouris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorotheos Kopanos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermis Sevastopoulos in the 19th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Giannis Kalogiannis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spyros Konstantakakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reds FC's Spyros Konstantakakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filippos Samaropoulos in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Giannis Kalogiannis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Spyros Konstantakakis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37thth minute of the game Giannis Kalogiannis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Reds FC's Spyros Konstantakakis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dorotheos Kopanos was a little too slow when Kostas Manousaridis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-4. 43 minutes into the game, Themis Kyriakiadis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Reds FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympic Airways the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Themis Kyriakiadis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 minutes of play, Olympic Airways's Filippos Samaropoulos made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Spyros Konstantakakis was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giannis Kalogiannis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Olympic Airways's Apostolos Skopelitis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Spyros Konstantakakis. That made the score 1-6 after 55 minutes of play. In the 58th minute Giannis Kalogiannis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spyros Konstantakakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Miltos Vakoufaris fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympic Airways's protests and gave Miltos Vakoufaris a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Olympic Airways got a freekick which was hit by Miltos Vakoufaris. 65 minutes into the game, Reds FC's Ilias Bitsikeas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorotheos Kopanos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giannis Kalogiannis in the 69th minute of play forced Reds FC's goalkeeper Spyros Konstantakakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Olympic Airways's Filippos Samaropoulos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Spyros Konstantakakis. That made the score 2-7 after 70 minutes of play. 73 minutes into the match, Reds FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miltos Vakoufaris came free, but Spyros Konstantakakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giannis Kalogiannis in the 75th minute of play forced Reds FC's goalkeeper Spyros Konstantakakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ermis Sevastopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Giannis Kalogiannis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Spyros Konstantakakis. The goal made the score 2-8. 87 minutes into the match, Filippos Samaropoulos notched a goal, 2-9, to the right of Reds FC's Spyros Konstantakakis. Spyros Konstantakakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Miltos Vakoufaris scored 2-10 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Spyros Konstantakakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Olympic Airways eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
