Spectators: 7050 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) Iason Stavrakopoulos made the kick off and thus started the match. When Marios Tzanetis came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the PANATHINAIKOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marios Tzanetis couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lefkopetra FC's zone, Marios Tzanetis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filippos Toris came out of the goal and Marios Tzanetis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolf Luuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 minutes, Themos Karapiperidis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lefkopetra FC and the PANATHINAIKOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of PANATHINAIKOS booed when Lefkopetra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Themos Karapiperidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ntinos Giannakopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panos Kalamaras hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ntinos Giannakopoulos in the 28th minute of play forced Lefkopetra FC's goalkeeper Filippos Toris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Gerasimos Adamou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PANATHINAIKOS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lefkopetra FC the free kick. In the 30th minute, Gerasimos Adamou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Nikos Votsis managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. With a little luck, PANATHINAIKOS's Ken Troxler got control of the ball when Adolf Luuk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Theocharis Kottikas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippos Toris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Adolf Luuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ntinos Giannakopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filippos Toris having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Ntinos Giannakopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ntinos Giannakopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filippos Toris having to interfere. Ken Troxler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iason Stavrakopoulos's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Iason Stavrakopoulos spun around in front of the goal 66 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of PANATHINAIKOS's goal. Filippos Toris acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gerasimos Adamou. After 76 played minutes PANATHINAIKOS got a freekick which was hit by Marios Tzanetis. Thodoris Vogiatzis kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Filippos Toris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theocharis Kottikas, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. PANATHINAIKOS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
