Petros Sarris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Argyris Xanthidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Argyris Xanthidis came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the 1η Μ.Α.Λ. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Argyris Xanthidis couldn't finish the play. Akakios Lazariou hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Petros Sarris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Argyris Xanthidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eustratios Panagakos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evaggelos Petroulakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th match minute, 1η Μ.Α.Λ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 许益宇 to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Evaggelos Petroulakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiit Võsoberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petros Sarris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alekos Grigorakis went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Piryion FC booed when 1η Μ.Α.Λ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustratios Panagakos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoros Kaounos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petros Sarris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play.
