After having played for 4 minutes, Dimitris Trakas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Dogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitris Trakas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the PANATHINAIKOS defense, Nektarios Megalios kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ken Troxler. The PANATHINAIKOS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ken Troxler should have stopped the shot. Kyriakos Papandreou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theocharis Kottikas in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, The Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Theocharis Kottikas came free, but Kyriakos Papandreou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marios Tzanetis kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nektarios Megalios in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ken Troxler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 28 minutes into the match, The Dogs's goalkeeper Kyriakos Papandreou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ntinos Giannakopoulos. In the 34th minute, Dimitris Trakas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute Theocharis Kottikas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyriakos Papandreou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nektarios Megalios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, PANATHINAIKOS's Renos Zikos got a free kick in the 40th minute. Renos Zikos hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. PANATHINAIKOS's Ken Troxler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manos Logarakis in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Nektarios Megalios ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ken Troxler was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Theocharis Kottikas to make the kick off. Kyriakos Papandreou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renos Zikos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kyriakos Papandreou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ntinos Giannakopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Stamatis Malezas kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Loukas Kapogiannopoulos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ken Troxler came out and tried to block the shot, but Loukas Kapogiannopoulos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 79th minute. A collision led to PANATHINAIKOS getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Marios Tzanetis hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Renos Zikos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Louis Pitsikokos kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Kyriakos Papandreou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theocharis Kottikas in the 91st minute of play. Ntinos Giannakopoulos scored 2-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kyriakos Papandreou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
