The supporters of PANTHERS FC booed when The Athenians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilias Sapounopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Vrasidas Liapakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Vaggelis Papoutsidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Ignatios Schizas made a precise shot to the right of Tilemachos Vourkos. The Athenians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Nontas Vidalis kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, The Athenians's Vrasidas Liapakis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vaggelis Papoutsidis took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arsenio Abarca. Arsenio Abarca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 27 played minutes The Athenians got a freekick which was hit by Takis Rafailidis. Tilemachos Vourkos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fotis Raptopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ignatios Schizas took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tilemachos Vourkos. Tilemachos Vourkos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Tilemachos Vourkos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignatios Schizas in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th match minute, The Athenians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Takis Rafailidis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignatios Schizas in the 48th minute of play forced The Athenians's goalkeeper Tilemachos Vourkos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Vrasidas Liapakis made the kick off in the second half. Tilemachos Vourkos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fotis Raptopoulos in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Fotis Raptopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. PANTHERS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fotis Raptopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tilemachos Vourkos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giannis Bethanis hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, The Athenians's Vassilis Romanakos got a free kick in the 59th minute. Fotis Raptopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Tilemachos Vourkos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tilemachos Vourkos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fotis Raptopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Fotis Raptopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tilemachos Vourkos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Athenians's Tilemachos Vourkos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fotis Raptopoulos in the 81st minute of play. Vaggelis Papoutsidis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Arsenio Abarca skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 90th minute, Vrasidas Liapakis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Athenians fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. In the 95th minute Nontas Vidalis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tilemachos Vourkos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. PANTHERS FC had played much better football throughout.
