The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Kestrνnis getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. The audience was convinced that Orestis Skouras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sakis Velakos was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Christodoulos Agapoulis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sakis Velakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orestis Skouras in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sakis Velakos saved Dikefalos from getting behind. Sakis Velakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orestis Skouras, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Manolis Loumidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kostas Kalantidis in the 29th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Menios Varvitsiotis during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Kestrνnis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Menios Varvitsiotis to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Ilias Tsirigotakis from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Manolis Loumidis's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kostas Kalantidis in the 38th minute of play forced Kestrνnis's goalkeeper Manolis Loumidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes, Kestrνnis's Giannis Trachanas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sakis Velakos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kestrνnis reached it. After a rather tough play, Dikefalos's Kostas Kalantidis got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoforos Papardelas to strike the kick off in the second half. Sakis Velakos was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Orestis Skouras capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orestis Skouras really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 58th minute, Tasos Parmenidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kestrνnis's Orestis Skouras got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kestrνnis walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
