The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Eretria's goalkeeper Almir Terra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kyriakos Kakomiroglou. Kostas Saliarelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vassilis Manesis in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Vassilis Manesis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Saliarelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aimilios Kalokerinos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kostas Saliarelis having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Fivos Karabetakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Eretria's Konstantinos Goundoulakis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Aimilios Kalokerinos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Eretria's Aimilios Kalokerinos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kostas Saliarelis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Charalambos Theodorakoglou hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Vassilis Manesis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Saliarelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Eretria were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kyriakos Kakomiroglou made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Anemothyella A.C.P.'s Errikos Perdikas got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vassilis Manesis in the 60th minute of play forced Anemothyella A.C.P.'s goalkeeper Kostas Saliarelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Eretria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vassilis Manesis to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Anemothyella A.C.P. booed when Eretria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takis Malesios didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute Kyriakos Kakomiroglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almir Terra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simos Ikonomou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simos Ikonomou kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 85 minutes, Vassilis Manesis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eretria and the Anemothyella A.C.P. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vassilis Manesis hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Kyriakos Kakomiroglou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almir Terra was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Almir Terra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyriakos Kakomiroglou, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eretria would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
