The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sakis Georgakis charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sakis Georgakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, Byzantium F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakis Georgakis to maneuver through the defense. If Chatziantoniou Valkanas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Byzantium F.C.'s zone, Chatziantoniou Valkanas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dimitris Pantelis came out of the goal and Chatziantoniou Valkanas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chatziantoniou Valkanas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Dimitris Pantelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chatziantoniou Valkanas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitris Pantelis having to interfere. Dimitris Pantelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themistoklis Stavrou in the 23rd minute of play. Vaggelis Egomitis kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Themistoklis Stavrou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitris Pantelis having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Zacharias Verelis fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A hard shot by Pantelis Lefkos from long distance, 40 minutes into the match, got Akis Vakoufaris's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Byzantium F.C.'s Iason Bantrakos got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Zacharias Verelis made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Chatziantoniou Valkanas made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Byzantium F.C.'s Dimitris Pantelis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Themistoklis Stavrou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th match minute, Byzantium F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iason Bantrakos to maneuver through the defense. Chatziantoniou Valkanas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Dimitris Pantelis made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in dikastes's zone, Sakis Georgakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akis Vakoufaris came out of the goal and Sakis Georgakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Byzantium F.C.'s Dimitris Pantelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themistoklis Stavrou in the 67th minute of play. Chatziantoniou Valkanas struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Dimitris Pantelis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for dikastes. If Sakis Georgakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 72 minutes, Chatziantoniou Valkanas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. dikastes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chatziantoniou Valkanas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dimitris Pantelis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chatziantoniou Valkanas in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Zacharias Verelis notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of dikastes's Akis Vakoufaris. Akis Vakoufaris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chatziantoniou Valkanas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Dimitris Pantelis made a huge save. With his leg Dimitris Pantelis managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when dikastes's Chatziantoniou Valkanas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Zacharias Verelis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Byzantium F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marinos Kostetsos to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, dikastes's Dimitris Bakogiannis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Chatziantoniou Valkanas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dimitris Pantelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themistoklis Stavrou in the 97th minute of play forced Byzantium F.C.'s goalkeeper Dimitris Pantelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. dikastes were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Byzantium F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
