In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nenitoϊria BC's goalkeeper Theodosis Sfoliatas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Marinos Kastanias fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PANATHINAIKOS FC's protests and gave Marinos Kastanias a yellow card for diving instead. Marinos Kastanias kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Gerasimos Venoukas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Theodosis Sfoliatas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Orestis Kalpadakis charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nenitoϊria BC's Orestis Kalpadakis got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Spyros Kavouratos kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Christos Papageorgakis made a precise shot to the right of Theodosis Sfoliatas. PANATHINAIKOS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerasimos Venoukas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theodosis Sfoliatas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerasimos Venoukas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Theodosis Sfoliatas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerasimos Venoukas, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
