The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanasis Peras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iakovos Kapeliotis having to make a save. Iakovos Kapeliotis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thanasis Peras went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Asteras BC's goal looked a bit too open when Fokas Kostoulas came free, but Sofoklis Batiropoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanasis Peras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fokas Kostoulas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sofoklis Batiropoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Argyris Varelis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sofoklis Batiropoulos. The goal made the score 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thanasis Peras was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute, Kostas Kagiorgis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sofoklis Batiropoulos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Sofoklis Batiropoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Argyris Varelis in the 71st minute of play. Takis Papachristoudis's late challenge caught a Mouzαkion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Takis Papachristoudis helped the player get up and apologised. Renos Kartalis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sofoklis Batiropoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mouzαkion's Charalambos Karastamatis got a free kick in the 90th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Sotiris Tsirigakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asteras BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sotiris Tsirigakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Thanasis Peras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Mouzαkion could leave the field as winners, despite Asteras BC having more of the ball for most of the match.
