After a rather tough play, Thrilos's Minas Lidakis got a free kick in the 29th minute. Charalambos Anastasiou kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Panathinaikos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thymios Papoulidis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ntinos Kalifoulis hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ntinos Kalifoulis took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thymios Kladas. Thymios Kladas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Thymios Kladas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Roubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giorgos Roubakis to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Panathinaikos booed when Thrilos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Themis Mousios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giorgos Roubakis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Thymios Kladas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Thrilos got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Kouroupetzoglou. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chris Thuault during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Chris Thuault kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Lazaros Verikokos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fotis Chatziapostolou went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Thrilos's Thymios Kladas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giorgos Roubakis in the 70th minute of play. Antonis Papagiannis scored 1-4 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thymios Kladas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thrilos's Thymios Kladas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ntinos Kalifoulis in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Giorgos Roubakis lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Thymios Kladas. Alekos Sapounidis was shown his second yellow card after 89 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Panathinaikos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
