Giannis Nikiforou kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Achilleas Spazokefalos could shoot a difficult shot in the 3rd minute, which Tymoteusz Pysz however easily saved by the left post. In the 7th minute Achilleas Spazokefalos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tymoteusz Pysz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Achilleas Spazokefalos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tymoteusz Pysz was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 10 minutes into the match, Volos NFC's goal looked a bit too open when Achilleas Spazokefalos came free, but Tymoteusz Pysz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Themis Filippakos fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Volos NFC's protests and gave Themis Filippakos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Volos NFC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Themis Filippakos hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Babbis Venetis during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Volos NFC's Babbis Venetis got a free kick in the 21st minute. 26 minutes into the game, Volos NFC's Thanos Fanatos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sakis Peponis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Sakis Peponis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavlos Kassapis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Alexis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Thanos Fanatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Peponis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Thanos Fanatos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sakis Peponis. JOLLYROGER's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thanos Fanatos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Themis Filippakos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Pavlos Kassapis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sakis Peponis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tymoteusz Pysz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Alexis in the 54th minute of the match. JOLLYROGER's Sakis Peponis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanos Fanatos in the 59th minute of play. Babbis Venetis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Sakis Peponis made a huge save. Babbis Venetis hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Volos NFC's Tymoteusz Pysz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigoris Karameros in the 66th minute of play. Babbis Venetis got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Thanos Fanatos's late challenge caught a JOLLYROGER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanos Fanatos helped the player get up and apologised. After 69 played minutes Volos NFC got a freekick which was hit by Thanos Fanatos. If Achilleas Spazokefalos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sakis Peponis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanos Fanatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Themis Filippakos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Sakis Peponis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Themis Filippakos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nikitas Christodoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakis Peponis having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 84 minutes into the game, when Pavlos Kassapis put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Volos NFC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Pavlos Kassapis hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Argyris Ouzounidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. JOLLYROGER's supporters rose to their feet, but Argyris Ouzounidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tymoteusz Pysz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Thanos Fanatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Volos NFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Volos NFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
