The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Babbis Kariotakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaggelos Dermitzakis in the 5th minute of play. Panathinaikos's Lazaros Verikokos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achilleas Tsopelas in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Giorgos Roubakis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Babbis Kariotakis. The goal made the score 1-0. Gate13's Babbis Kariotakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Gate13 from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Panathinaikos's goal looked a bit too open when Marinos Kandarakis came free, but Lazaros Verikokos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Panathinaikos's Antonis Papagiannis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Babbis Kariotakis. Babbis Kariotakis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Antonis Papagiannis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Babbis Kariotakis made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Evaggelos Dermitzakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gate13's Babbis Kariotakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonis Papagiannis in the 43rd minute of play. If Chris Thuault had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giorgos Roubakis to make the kick off. Gate13's Babbis Kariotakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonis Papagiannis in the 53rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Gate13 defense, Giorgos Roubakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Babbis Kariotakis. The Gate13 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Babbis Kariotakis should have stopped the shot. Giorgos Roubakis scored 4-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Babbis Kariotakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 62nd match minute, Gate13 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nasos Droumalias to maneuver through the defense. Nasos Droumalias kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 69th minute of the match Ntinos Kalifoulis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Babbis Kariotakis skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Roubakis in the 71st minute of play forced Gate13's goalkeeper Babbis Kariotakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes, Vassilis Kagiasis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gate13 and the Panathinaikos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gate13 getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Vassilis Kagiasis hit a great ball. Babbis Kariotakis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antonis Papagiannis went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Lazaros Verikokos made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Achilleas Tsopelas sent off a good shot on target. Lazaros Verikokos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marinos Kandarakis in the 81st minute of the match. Babbis Kariotakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Roubakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd match minute, Gate13 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eutichios Botilias to maneuver through the defense. Ntinos Kalifoulis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Giorgos Roubakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
