With a little luck, Riverpool's Michalis Karamaounas got control of the ball when Renos Kesanopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Νέοι Επιβάτες's Chatziioannou Kaminaris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonis Mitsibonas in the 11th minute of play. Chatziioannou Kaminaris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonis Mitsibonas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Makis Koutsospyros during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Νέοι Επιβάτες's Makis Koutsospyros got a free kick in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Antonis Mitsibonas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riverpool's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonis Mitsibonas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chatziioannou Kaminaris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chatziioannou Kaminaris came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Riverpool's Aggelos Periadis. But to his dismay, Aggelos Periadis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 31stth minute of the game Antonis Mitsibonas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Νέοι Επιβάτες's Chatziioannou Kaminaris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Riverpool's Kostas Triantafyllopoulos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Demis Idrotoglou, made in the 34th minute of the game. In the 36th minute Aggelos Periadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chatziioannou Kaminaris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Antonis Mitsibonas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chatziioannou Kaminaris was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. When Panos Theocharis fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The supporters of Νέοι Επιβάτες booed when Riverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panos Theocharis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Riverpool's Telis Theodoridis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chatziioannou Kaminaris. Chatziioannou Kaminaris yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Chatziioannou Kaminaris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonis Mitsibonas in the 62nd minute of play. With his leg Chatziioannou Kaminaris managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Riverpool's Antonis Mitsibonas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Panos Theocharis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. Chatziioannou Kaminaris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aggelos Periadis in the 68th minute of the match. Demis Idrotoglou hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Telis Theodoridis in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Chatziioannou Kaminaris, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Aggelos Periadis sped through Νέοι Επιβάτες's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chatziioannou Kaminaris.
