The supporters of Riverpool booed when Keraynos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Menios Veliou didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match, Alekos Martinakis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Michalis Karamaounas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 25 minutes into the match, Riverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Alekos Martinakis came free, but Michalis Karamaounas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Themistoklis Pourtoulidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Themistoklis Pourtoulidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aggelos Periadis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Panos Theocharis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Thodoris Kapogiannopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Menios Veliou in the 75th minute of play forced Riverpool's goalkeeper Michalis Karamaounas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michalis Karamaounas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alekos Martinakis in the 76th minute of play. Riverpool's Michalis Karamaounas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menios Veliou in the 79th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alekos Martinakis couldn't finish the play.
