The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Riverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Theocharis Kourmentalas came free, but Michalis Karamaounas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Kendrνon FC booed when Riverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telis Theodoridis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Telis Theodoridis could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Giannis Kourkoubetis however easily saved by the left post. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kendrνon FC's goalkeeper Giannis Kourkoubetis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aggelos Periadis struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Giannis Kourkoubetis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riverpool. Giannis Kourkoubetis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simos Someritis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Nestoras Stratos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Riverpool's Michalis Karamaounas. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michalis Karamaounas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Nestoras Stratos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kendrνon FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. After some careless play in the Riverpool defense, Nestoras Stratos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michalis Karamaounas. The Riverpool fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michalis Karamaounas should have stopped the shot. Giannis Kourkoubetis came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Riverpool's Antonis Mitsibonas. But to his dismay, Antonis Mitsibonas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Antonis Mitsibonas might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giannis Kourkoubetis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonis Mitsibonas ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonis Mitsibonas to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Kendrνon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antonis Mitsibonas came free, but Giannis Kourkoubetis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Antonis Mitsibonas came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Riverpool fans jumped to their feet.
