But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alekos Gazis couldn't finish the play. Sakis Velatos came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by A.O ASTERAS SYROY's Veniamin Zervoulakis. But to his dismay, Veniamin Zervoulakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Veniamin Zervoulakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.O ASTERAS SYROY's supporters rose to their feet, but Veniamin Zervoulakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sakis Velatos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sakis Velatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustratios Symeonidis in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Renos Kotsiras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ANAGENISH's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renos Kotsiras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, ANAGENISH's Nektarios Servetiadis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mihai Vătavu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alekos Gazis kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in A.O ASTERAS SYROY's zone, Renos Kotsiras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihai Vătavu came out of the goal and Renos Kotsiras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ANAGENISH's Sakis Velatos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veniamin Zervoulakis in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Nektarios Servetiadis made the kick off in the second half. Sakis Velatos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustratios Symeonidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ANAGENISH's Sakis Velatos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save ANAGENISH from getting a goal against them. If Renos Kotsiras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 played minutes ANAGENISH got a freekick which was hit by Chrisostomos Vamvakas. Sakis Velatos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustratios Symeonidis in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Eustratios Symeonidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Velatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, A.O ASTERAS SYROY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veniamin Zervoulakis to maneuver through the defense. Sakis Velatos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustratios Symeonidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, ANAGENISH's Lakis Agathakoglou got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the match was over A.O ASTERAS SYROY could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ANAGENISH throughout the match.
