Mihai Vătavu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mihai Vătavu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A.O ASTERAS SYROY's Mihai Vătavu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koulis Liras in the 24th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Menelaos Kokkalopoulos in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Vătavu saved A.O ASTERAS SYROY from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Konstantinos Tsilikos in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rodiakos FC's Sotiris Charisteas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giannis Manolas during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Giannis Manolas hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Menelaos Kokkalopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihai Vătavu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Mihai Vătavu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Rodiakos FC's Kostas Drakos got control of the ball when Veniamin Zervoulakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Rodiakos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Alekos Gazis in the 52nd minute of play forced Rodiakos FC's goalkeeper Kostas Drakos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, A.O ASTERAS SYROY's goalkeeper Mihai Vătavu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Menelaos Kokkalopoulos. Menelaos Kokkalopoulos took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihai Vătavu. Mihai Vătavu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alexis Katzos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 66 played minutes Rodiakos FC got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Manolas. The supporters of Rodiakos FC booed when A.O ASTERAS SYROY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustratios Symeonidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the A.O ASTERAS SYROY defense, Menelaos Kokkalopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mihai Vătavu. The A.O ASTERAS SYROY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mihai Vătavu should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Rodiakos FC's Koulis Liras got a free kick in the 79th minute. A.O ASTERAS SYROY's Mihai Vătavu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save A.O ASTERAS SYROY from getting a goal against them. A.O ASTERAS SYROY's Mihai Vătavu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menelaos Kokkalopoulos in the 87th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Menelaos Kokkalopoulos got free with Mihai Vătavu in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The A.O ASTERAS SYROY supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rodiakos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Rodiakos FC.
