Lambis Talitsikas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evaggelos Kapetanidis having to make a save. Αστέρας Δερβενίου's Evaggelos Kapetanidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lambis Talitsikas in the 9th minute of play. Ilias Seichanidis made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Piara Gallardo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nasos Papadis in the 17th minute of play forced Αστέρας Δερβενίου's goalkeeper Evaggelos Kapetanidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaggelos Kapetanidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Landero, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With an all-out effort, Αστέρας Δερβενίου's Ilias Seichanidis threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paris Karaindros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

ΟΦΗ's Akis Karaoulanis was substituted for Babbis Theodorakakos. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nasos Papadis made a kick off. Augusto Landero might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evaggelos Kapetanidis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Landero in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evaggelos Kapetanidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Αστέρας Δερβενίου were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of ΟΦΗ for a fine match.
