With 12 minutes on the clock, Miltiadis Theodosiadis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mesta fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! 16 minutes into the match, Vaggelis Poulis notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mesta's Pantelis Kosmas. Pantelis Kosmas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pipis Siapanidis, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miltos Vourexakis in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kostas Alexoudis saved Blue Lions FC from getting behind. Pantelis Kosmas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stathis Klotsidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Mesta's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Björck came free, but Pantelis Kosmas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Mesta's goalkeeper Pantelis Kosmas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stathis Klotsidis. Kostas Alexoudis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lakis Papafotopoulos in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Stathis Klotsidis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pantelis Kosmas. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mesta booed when Blue Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pipis Siapanidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yousef El Arabi to make the kick off. The Blue Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Petr Špulák kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Miltos Vourexakis came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Mesta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miltos Vourexakis couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stathis Klotsidis in the 78th minute of play forced Mesta's goalkeeper Pantelis Kosmas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yousef El Arabi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kostas Alexoudis having to make a save.
