PAOK Irakliou's Thodoris Patsatzis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Revithis in the 8th minute of play. Daniil Barlas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Koulis Sifakis made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sotos Karypidis in the 11th minute of play forced PAOK Irakliou's goalkeeper Thodoris Patsatzis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Koulis Sifakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trifon Takounakis in the 13th minute of the match. Kostas Revithis might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thodoris Patsatzis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kostas Revithis ran back to his position shaking his head. Trifon Takounakis did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Koulis Sifakis 22 minutes into the match. Thodoris Patsatzis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Kotsios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Kostas Revithis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thodoris Patsatzis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Kostas Revithis came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the AO Chalkidas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kostas Revithis couldn't finish the play. AO Chalkidas's Koulis Sifakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trifon Takounakis in the 38th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Giorgos Raftopoulos's late challenge caught a AO Chalkidas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giorgos Raftopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes PAOK Irakliou got a freekick which was hit by Giorgos Raftopoulos. Daniil Barlas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AO Chalkidas made a substitution. Sotiris Spanakis replaced Sotos Karypidis. AO Chalkidas's Daniil Vangelis was substituted for Takis Ladas. When Giorgos Livaris fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AO Chalkidas's protests and gave Giorgos Livaris a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, AO Chalkidas's Giorgos Livaris got a free kick in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Trifon Takounakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. PAOK Irakliou's supporters rose to their feet, but Trifon Takounakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Koulis Sifakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of PAOK Irakliou booed when AO Chalkidas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demis Iliadis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Daniil Barlas notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of AO Chalkidas's Koulis Sifakis. Koulis Sifakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 76th minute, Trifon Takounakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Koulis Sifakis was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 79th minute, Alekos Sapounelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniil Barlas scored 4-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Koulis Sifakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Marinos Dimitroulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniil Barlas in the 89th minute of play forced AO Chalkidas's goalkeeper Koulis Sifakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AO Chalkidas's Giorgos Livaris got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Giorgos Livaris off the ground. A collision led to AO Chalkidas getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Giorgos Livaris hit a great ball. Trifon Takounakis struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Koulis Sifakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PAOK Irakliou. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The PAOK Irakliou fans cheered their team off the field, for while AO Chalkidas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
