The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilias Vidalis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atletico de Madrid's Marcelo Frans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniil Barlas in the 52nd minute of play. Aadam Aaabel kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of PAOK Irakliou booed when Atletico de Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giannis Barbikas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Marcelo Frans was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Daniil Barlas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Marcelo Frans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Atletico de Madrid's Giannis Barbikas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Giannis Barbikas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atletico de Madrid protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Giannis Barbikas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atletico de Madrid! The supporters of PAOK Irakliou booed when Atletico de Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoforos Tiganidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christodoulos Tsagris's late challenge caught a Atletico de Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After a rather tough play, PAOK Irakliou's Christodoulos Tsagris got a free kick in the 89th minute. Giannis Dimitropoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thodoris Patsatzis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giannis Dimitropoulos ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. PAOK Irakliou fully deserved thier win.
