The audience was convinced that Rubens Donato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Markos Bibis was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Anestis Tzougarakis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Bruninho Falcão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kalymnos F.C.'s goalkeeper Bruninho Falcão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aimilios Eleftheriadis kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rubens Donato sped through PAOK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Markos Bibis. In the 37th minute, PAOK's Nasos Patakos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. In the 41st minute Anestis Tzougarakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Markos Bibis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fondas Salevris in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, PAOK's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Donato came free, but Markos Bibis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markos Bibis came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Kalymnos F.C.'s Fondas Salevris. But to his dismay, Fondas Salevris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Anestis Tzougarakis made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Nasos Patakos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruninho Falcão was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Bruninho Falcão came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by PAOK's Anestis Tzougarakis. But to his dismay, Anestis Tzougarakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anestis Tzougarakis in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruninho Falcão saved Kalymnos F.C. from getting behind. Dimitris Liapis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Markos Bibis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute Anestis Tzougarakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kalymnos F.C.'s Roberto Fagildo got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Roberto Fagildo off the ground.
