The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Odysseas Lazaroglou scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celalettin Eraltay, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stelios Melas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nikos Labakis in the 9th minute. Stelios Melas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Sifakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Stelios Melas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Toli in the 17th minute of the match. Başaran Eskioğlu made in the 22nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Babbis Zigouris. After a rather tough play, AEK KAVALAS FC's Soulis Aggelakoglou got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Emil Giurcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celalettin Eraltay having to interfere. If Odysseas Lazaroglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Başaran Eskioğlu made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AEK KAVALAS FC's Emil Giurcă. After 32 played minutes AEK KAVALAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Emil Giurcă. Stelios Melas made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Jonatan Toli sent off a good shot on target. Stelios Melas was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Jonatan Toli capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jonatan Toli really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Odysseas Lazaroglou put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Celalettin Eraltay. A collision led to Kipouroi FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Koulis Gialesakis hit a great ball. Celalettin Eraltay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Odysseas Lazaroglou's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Achilleas Karapostolou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AEK KAVALAS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kipouroi FC the free kick. The supporters of Kipouroi FC booed when AEK KAVALAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achilleas Karapostolou didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Kipouroi FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AEK KAVALAS FC were winning 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonatan Toli made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, AEK KAVALAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexis Sifakis came free, but Stelios Melas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match Kipouroi FC got a corner. AEK KAVALAS FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Babbis Zigouris ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kipouroi FC's Thrasivoulos Polimenakos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stelios Melas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Odysseas Lazaroglou got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apostolos Strimmenos in the 77th minute of play forced AEK KAVALAS FC's goalkeeper Stelios Melas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute of the match, Odysseas Lazaroglou got a very nice opportunity to score, but Celalettin Eraltay was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Koulis Gialesakis got a throw-in 81 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nikos Labakis. Makis Labiridis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Celalettin Eraltay made a huge save. Odysseas Lazaroglou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Thrasivoulos Polimenakos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stelios Melas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4.
