Spectators: 10891 (Terracing: 8169, Seating: 2505, VIP seats: 217) Santiago Silva started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Silva got free with Rafa Lojewski in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Cássio Gonçalves got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 9th minute of the match, Santiago Silva got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rafa Lojewski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Santiago Silva took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafa Lojewski. Rafa Lojewski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ingvar Nykvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Amorebieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Fernando Amorebieta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ingvar Nykvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's Thanasis Kanavos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafa Lojewski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thanasis Kanavos in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafa Lojewski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute, Facundo Bot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Go Ahead Eagles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Ingvar Nykvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Bot in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iustin Bâru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Bâru in the 51st minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ingvar Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ingvar Nykvist. That made the score 1-4 after 55 minutes of play. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Baldovino Argos was substituted for Thanasis Kanavos. After a defensive mix-up in ΠΑΟΚ FC's zone, Fernando Amorebieta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingvar Nykvist came out of the goal and Fernando Amorebieta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Michalis Patsatzoglou was substituted for Ronaldão Mendonça. Go Ahead Eagles's Panos Kaklamanos was substituted for Manga Mangkudikusumah. Go Ahead Eagles made a substitution. Merih Yesari replaced Grigore Mălaimare. ΠΑΟΚ FC made a substitution. Sotiris Zacharakis replaced Edmondo Del Monte. Merih Yesari made in the 67th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Iustin Bâru immediately put the ball in play. In the 69th minute of the match ΠΑΟΚ FC got a corner. Go Ahead Eagles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Petros Mirtsos ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on ΠΑΟΚ FC's corner Petros Mirtsos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rafa Lojewski quite easily take care of the ball. Ingvar Nykvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Bot in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, ΠΑΟΚ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldovino Argos to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Go Ahead Eagles's Erling Lewandowski dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ingvar Nykvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save ΠΑΟΚ FC from getting a goal against them. Go Ahead Eagles's attentive Fernando Amorebieta managed to snatch the ball when Sotiris Zacharakis made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, ΠΑΟΚ FC's Baldovino Argos got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Erling Lewandowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
